If they seemed to need a bit more, I used just plain Vaseline. I took all the parts off and cleaned the old grease off with alcohol and then oiled them up with synthetic oil. This shortness allows the diamond to track nicely and also allows that 1/2 gram of weight to work correctly. Empire cartridges are short and are compliant with the zero tonearm. The tonearm on the Zero works best when the tonearm is level when the diamond is on the surface of the lp. Another factor in picking a cartridge is how tall it is from top to diamond. I have found thru experience that Empire vintage cartridges and styli work the best with the zero 100s. I suppose you could order one from the factory installed, possibly? That would be the way it was here in the US. You would pick one out at the store that carried the Garrard's. These machines did not come with a cartridge or stylus.
